Christmas Lullaby by Cary Grant

This is an amazing lullaby by the amazing Cary Grant.  I just purchased it on amazon so I thought I'd share it with you with this video from youtube.  It is so lovely & puts you in a Christmas mood, what a shame I didn't know about this in November.

Today is one of those days that I could just watch Cary Grant films all day long.  He was such an amazing & wonderful actor.  His Christmas film "Bishop's Wife" is also really wonderful, if you haven't seen it, I'd most definitely recommend it.  Do you ever have Cary Grant films day? When you forget about dinner & just get lost in all of that old fashioned charm :)

What are your favourite Cary Grant films?

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

Butter Icing

Is there anything better than baking on a Friday afternoon?

I have been a bit poorly today with an eye infection.  It is difficult to read or look at the computer screen for too long so I wasn't able to study today. At least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it, have one red eye to prove it too ;)

So to cheer myself up, I decided to bake cup cakes with butter icing.  I'm sure hubby will be happy too when he gets home from a long day at work.  Love how easy they are to bake and how quickly it all gets done.  The gorgeous blue flowers/snow flakes are from my sweet friend Mandie from whispering Christmas dreams.  She had sent them in my Christmas Box back in October but I hadn't been able to use them yet.  I had a couple on their own whilst decorating & they are yummy. Hope you like the photos.

Hope you all have a fab & cosy weekend,

Happy Valentine's Day

Hope you have all had a lovely Valentine's Day :)

My wonderful hubby, treats me to a weekend away if Valentine's Day is a week day, so last weekend we went to a gorgeous hotel in Lincolnshire. There was yummy food and drinks, beautiful views, relaxing swimming pool/sauna and and adorable presents.  We always exchange cards & gifts when we decide to celebrate.

This year I received a beautiful necklace made with Onyx, a lovely novel to read & a DVD I really wanted ( The Switch/ Jennifer Aniston).  So after being totally spoilt all weekend I decided to decorate the house for today & cook a 3 course dinner for my wonderful hubby.

I made a light Greek salad to start with, then Julia Child's Boeuf Bourguignon (first recipe that I have tried this year) & a Chocolate cheese.  I got the recipe for chocolate cheesecake from Betty's Kitchen from youtube.  She has some of the most amazing recipes.  If you wish to watch it then click HERE.   I love Betty's recipes, easy to follow & turns out great :)

Here are some of the photos from our Valentine's Day.  Hope you enjoy them.

Hugs

This year I decided to display every Valentine's Day card that my hubby & I have ever exchanged.
Spent a few hours in the attic to find them but it was worth it.

HAPPY GROUND-HOG DAY

They really do look cute

Happy Ground hog Day everyone :)

This movie is one of my and hubby's favourite movies of all time.  We watch it every year on February 2nd but also throughout the year.  We would love to be able to one day go and visit one of the cities that celebrates it for real.  We also watch the live webcam. If you wish to watch it also, click HERE.

Do you celebrate Ground Hog Day also?  If so, how?

Hope you all are having a fabulous day,

Lily
